This project offered a rare opportunity to supply a large quantity of travertine for a modern building in Rome.
The job is located in a very prestigious area of Rome known as EUR. Savema S.p.A. acted as the main supplier, with Mariotti producing 50% of the fabricated panels.
Alabastrino Classico was the stone chosen by the Architect, crosscut, cement filled and honed.
The panels were particularly large, with a nominal thickness of 2cm.
With an overall supply of almost 30,000 square meters, divided in four buildings, this project is one of the largest exterior clad stone buildings in Italy for the past decades.
All the material was supplied to the exterior curtainwall contractor, Focchi S.p.A.
In the Mariotti facility, under the supervision of Focchi, the travertine panels were mechanically installed on stainless steel frames to be later transported to the jobsite, a merely 20 miles away.
The project was successfully completed ahead of schedule.
